AW: ronz lures sandal wo kaufen??
Hi Torben, ''alter'' Junge,
Mastering the RonZ fish catching ability is to understand it and how the fish react to it. The technique used in fishing the RonZ is a little different than fishing hard surface lures. Most common mistake made by anglers is setting the hook to quickly while fishing soft baits. Too quick on the draw is my favorite say about improper hook setting, slow down the process and wait to feel the fish, not the fish feeling the bait. Fish feel instantly what they put in their mouths, with the Ronz you have plenty of time to make the hook set, relax. Think of how you would react to a fish when fishing live bait, you wouldn't be setting the hook at the first detection of a fish. With hard lures you usually get one chance to make the hook up, its got to be quick, that is why they put so many hooks on them. The more hooks to snag the fish rather than hook it. With the RonZ you will get a second and third chance to close the deal. If you are getting bumps from caution fish continue you retrieve and wait until you feel some weight of the fish before setting the hook.
Vertical jigging the RonZ continues to gain popularity among fishermen worldwide. There is now a multitude of jigs available to the angler and this style of fishing is both enjoyable and productive. It is the most effective way to fish for any fish that is feeding down bellow. This style of fishing allows the angler to target fish at any depth and present a offering. Using today's electronics one can locate the fish and send down a RonZ with pin point aucuratsy and in most cases instantaneous hook-up.
The RonZ being a soft tail jig gives you a increased advantage over metal due to it's soft tail which will be held in the mouths of fish longer then metal jigs. Many times the fish will hook its-self once the line becomes tight. The RONZ was designed to swim as it drops to the desired depth, many times a strike will occur on the drop and this can be detected by monitoring you line speed. Spinning rods seem to work better when vertical jigging the RonZ due to its lighter weight vs. heavy metal jigs. The line coming off the spool of a spinning reel offers very little resistance and allows the RonZ to swim freely while making its way to the desired depth. I always recommend the lightest head weight that conditions allow. The less weight a fish feels when picking up your offering the longer it will hold onto it. Keep in mind that the fish will hold onto the RonZ and try to swallow it. I have experimented with hook less baits and find it quite interesting how long fish will hold on to the RonZ and sometimes pull drag before discarding it.
Casting the RonZ and retrieve method is probably the most common style of fishing with the RonZ. A steady retrieve with some slight tip movement can usually entice any fish that sees it onto striking. You don't have to retrieve the RonZ as quickly as some hard lures. Take your time and give the fish plenty of time to check out the bait, the RonZ has nothing to hide. Many times the larger fish will not chase a fast moving bait knowing that the smaller fish may be in chase and will out swim them.
When casting into a school of feeding fish with the RonZ just before it hits the water come tight. let the RonZ sink a few seconds this will help keep any feeding sea birds from mistakenly garbing it. It will also allow the RonZ to sink and look like it a escaping or wounded bait fish. There are usually larger smarter fish waiting for these single easy pickings. When bluefish are chasing surface baits they are often followed by striped bass that effortlessly pickup their scrapes and any wounded prey they leave behind. It won't be long before you feel the weight of a fish and set the hook. In time you will master this technique and it will become one of your favorites for catching the larger fish out of the school.
Surf fishermen will find the hydrodynamic shape of the RonZ is also aerodynamic. The low drag and streamline shape of the RonZ will slice threw the air including head winds. Shore fishermen can now fish the favorable on shore winds and still cast far enough to reach the fish.
